National Research and Development Institute for Food Bioresources – IBA Bucharest is a public research entity coordinated by the Ministry of Research and Innovation with research activity in 4 strategical areas: food safety, nutrition, consumer behaviour and food (Bio)technologies.
Our research activity is carried out in 9 laboratories, 3 pilot experimental stations and 2 other departments specialized in support actions and long life learning. Also, the research activity is assisted by the Marketing-Commercial department and by the Technological Information Center.
Besides the research activity, the institute also carries out third party services which consists of: laboratory analysis, personalized food production for consumers with special needs as well as food supplement notifications.
IBA Bucharest is an industry oriented organisation with a keen interest in developing products and technologies, analitical laboratory methods, studies and strategies.
Our mission is to face the societal challenges by elaborating, implementing and disseminating the agri-food research results. Our objective is to raise the quality of life by providing healthy food products and an increasing number of employees within the food chain in order to develop a close relationship with society and the food related companies.
Our vision is to be an important landmark in romanian agri-food sector and to be part of the international research community. Also, our intention is to be a reliable partner for food related companies providing an increasing level of satisfaction in research-development-innovation demands.
