As the world population is expected to increase, food request will follow the same pattern but natural available resources will not be able to support this trend. As an aditionally effect, food production is affected by huge rates of food losses which, of course, represent useless resource consumption.
That is why we must make the most of our available resources, transform traditional agriculture into sustainable one, in order to ensure higher, stable and eco-efficient production, more nutritious food and better quality products. Principles of circular economy across the whole food system can reduce environmental footprint and minimise food losses and waste.
PROVIDE Project is focused on valorization of food transformation industry by-products for use in bakery production.
’’Green’’ innovation processes will be involved, with material from organic products and the resulting new products can be marketed as ’’organic’’.
Thus, the first event under the umbrella of PROVIDE project which aims to promote circularity in the agrifood system, will be dedicated to interested stakeholders such as researchers, authorities, farmers, food processors, retailers, traders, control bodies and general public.
The event, Food waste valorization into valuable products, will be held online, on 17th november 2021 (see the agenda here).
Join our discussion (tax free) about European Commision’s Horizon 2020 ERA-NETs SUSFOOD2 and CORE Organic Cofunds, under the Joint SUSFOOD2/CORE Organic Call 2019.
