Between October 22–23, 2025, the National Research & Development Institute of Food Bioresources IBA Bucharest is organizing the workshop entitled “From mapping to action: a co-creation pathway towards gap identification and thematic clustering”, as part of the European project FHERITALE. The workshop, with closed circuit, will bring together European experts in public health, metrology, biology, ecotoxicology, and microbiology, alongside representatives of research infrastructures and industrial stakeholders.
Why this workshop?
The FHERITALE project aims to build a clear understanding of the impact of artificial materials — such as food packaging — on human health and the environment. Following a preliminary focus group, this workshop represents a key milestone in the process of validating the collected data, identifying gaps in the existing infrastructure, and shaping thematic clusters for future research.
Event agenda
The workshop will begin on October 22 with a social dinner at the well-known “Caru’ cu bere” restaurant. The following day, October 23, will be dedicated to interactive sessions, scientific presentations, and group discussions. Among the invited speakers (to be confirmed) are representatives from JRC Ispra, University of Parma, UCIMA/D4PACK, ANSES, and INRiM.
The event will contribute to the development of an updated map of key actors and will facilitate inter-institutional collaboration for future research initiatives.
