IBA Bucharest, together with RoAliment organizes the workshop entitled “Food system efficiency through the use of clean technologies” which will be held at 5th Ancuta Baneasa Str., on the 27th of February 2020, starting at 10.00 am.
Starting from the document prepared by the European Commission, the European Platform for food waste, “Recommendations for Action in Food Waste Prevention Developed” comprising measures and types of actions recommended to minimize losses in the food chain, IBA Bucharest organizes this workshop in order to identify the appropriate actions that the Romanian food industry, supported by the food research, can implement.
We must mention that this topic is also a high priority in the European research framework program 2021-2027 Horizon Europe (HEU).
In the new framework formulated by the European Commission, for three hours, together with all the stakeholders in the food chain (industry and its collective organizations, local, regional and national public authorities, R&D and general public), we will discuss the proposed topic in a Science Coffee format.
Given the fact that we all want a sustainable, resistant, responsible, diverse, inclusive and competitive food system, we aim to develop a protocol between the participants/stakeholders to be presented to the policy makers for future strategies and public policies in the field. This step is absolutely necessary and beneficial in defining how Romania can effectively participate in the Horizon Europe program and related agri-food initiatives and can be a supporting document for all organizations wishing to access national and European public funds, within the framework food waste concept.
