Project Summary:
A protein hydrolyzate with special characteristics will be obtained. In addition, a pilot plant for producing this hydrolyzate will be carried out in Serbia. Hydrolyzate (both solid and liquid variants) will be sent to Romania for characterization, analysis and additional research to be transformed into a food supplement.
The Serbian industrial partner is a soybean producer and processor, who also has a health program called SojaVita. Unit Research from Serbia – University of Belgrade, Faculty of Metallurgical Technologies, has excellent expertise on enzymatic treatments and will generate an innovative enzymatic technology (by non-thermal treatment).
The Romanian Coordinator (Natural Ingredients R&D SRL) is an innovative technology company that produces ingredients for cosmetic and food industries and wants to introduce soybean suppliments into its product portfolio. The food supplement, improved with the help of Romanian research specialists (INCDBA – IBA Bucharest) will be tested in food (bakery and meat), obtained at the pilot plants of the institute. The institute seeks to extend food standards, which it capitalizes on its pilot plant. The third Romanian partner – Expergo Business Network SRL – is an innovative company specializing in sensorial analysis, which will perform both the hydrolysates sensorial profile study and descriptive sensory analysis tests as well as quantitative product testing, functional product testing on consumers and the degree of acceptance and preference of consumers.
The Romanian-Serbian partnership in the project has a durable character and, after the end of the project, the Serbian side ensures the raw material (pilot plant) and the Romanian part, the market opportunity of the food supplement and of the new food products, standardized on the pilot stations of IBA.
