World Water Day was celebrated on 22nd March 2020. In that framework, IBA’s Spanish collaborators, the Agrofood Cluster of the Region of Murcia and the National Technological Centre for the Food and Canning Industry CTC, introduced to IBA the Interreg Europe iWATERMAP project, which focuses on supporting innovation policies in the water technology sector. Among others, the North-East Regional Development Agency of Romania is partner of the project too. The consortium seeks to promote the development of sustainable solutions for water technologies.
iWATERMAP will develop roadmaps for critical mass, human capital and internationalization, supporting Regional Smart Specialization Strategies for Innovation (RIS3). In addition, its results include more sustainable jobs in the field of water technology as well as a better functioning of the economic sectors that depend on water. Currently the project is in the phase of describing Action Plans to achieve implement its objectives.
