Research on the risks caused by materials intended for contact with food products, by groups of materials

2013-01-20

Contract:

ing authority: Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development

Project completion period: 26.11.2013-16.12.2014

Budget: 1.120.000 lei

Consortium:

NRD Institute for Food Bioresources – IBA Bucharest (CO)

Association “National Forum of Compared Oncology” - FNOC (P1)

Association “Expert Body for Food Safety” – CESA (P2)

Oncologic Institute “Prof. dr. Alex. Trestioreanu” Bucharest – IOB (P3)

NRD for Industrial Ecology – ECOIND Bucharest (P4)

NRD for Pedology, Agro-chemistry and Environment protection – ICPA Bucharest (P5)

University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest – UPB (P6)

The objective of the program: Investigating the carcinogenic potential of some chemical contaminants in the Bucharest-Ilfov area and establishing the correlations between them and the incidence of cancer.

Specific objectives:

Investigating the degree of contamination with carcinogenic contaminants in correlation with the incidence of cancers in the studied areas;

Investigation of the types of potential carcinogenic contaminants from the environment (water and soil) and those from the agricultural production;

Identification of the agro-food production transmission vectors of potentially carcinogenic contaminants in food; surveillance and monitoring of contaminants with potential carcinogen in some agri-food products;

Inventory of studies, reports, research on good practices to minimize the accumulation of potentially carcinogenic contaminants in agri-food products; developing good practice guides.
